Men's Tennis Ranked 4th in Final Poll

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University men's tennis team was ranked fourth in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll.

Additionally, Barry's Marco Mokrzycki, Fabian Groetsch and Leo Vivas each earned All-America honors.

The Buccaneers finished the season with a 22-6 overall record, which ended in the South Region title match in a 5-2 loss to host Lynn University. Barry was ranked second through fourth throughout the season.

Mokrzycki and Groetsch were named All-Americans as singles players. Mokrzycki went 14-5 at No. 1 singles. He was 8-3 against nationally-ranked opponents which included two wins over the No. 8-ranked player in the country and another over the No. 4 singles player. Mokrzycki was ranked fifth in the final poll.

Groetsch went 16-7 overall with 12 wins coming at the top three singles flights. He was 5-6 against the nation's ranked players. Groetsch was ranked 19th in the final poll.

Mokrzycki and Vivas received doubles All-America honors. As a duo, the Buccaneers pair went 14-5, primarily at the No. 2 spot. The Bucs' duo was ranked ninth in the final poll. Vivas and Mokrzycki were 1-3 against nationally-ranked opponents. Mokrzycki was 21-6 overall as a doubles player. Vivas was 18-9.
