Men's Basketball Signs 6-8 Post Player
Taylor Mulvey, a 6-8 forward/center, signed with Barry men's basketball team.

Barry University men’s basketball program announced the signing of Taylor Mulvey.

A 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward/center from Albany, N.Y., Mulvey played for St. Thomas More Prep in Oakdale, Conn., in 2011-12. Mulvey helped lead St. Thomas More to a 28-8 record last season. He carried a 4.0 grade point average, and received the Big Apple Classic academic award.

As a senior at Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, Mulvey averaged seven points, six rebounds and three blocks per game in 2010-11. He set a school-record with 13 blocks in a game against Syracuse Henninger High in 2011.

Mulvey’s team won a New York state championship during his junior year. Christian Brothers lost in the state championship in his senior year.

“We are happy to add Taylor to our program,” Buccaneers head coach Cesar Odio said.  “He exemplifies what we look for in terms of a student-athlete here at Barry. He is a terrific student, a high character kid and a very intelligent basketball player. He is someone who is going to get better and better every year. Taylor is a proven winner coming from two very successful programs at St. Thomas More and Christian Brothers Academy before that.”
