Emelie Karlsson earned Barry University Female Athlete-of-the-Year for 2005-06. She led the Bucs to four straight NCAA Tournaments. One of the best players in school history, she led the conference in points all four years and was the first athlete in conference history to earn four straight player of the year awards (four-time Offensive player of the year, three time Overall Player of the Year). She holds school and conference records with 75 goals (including 25 game-winners), 49 assists and 199 points. A 1st- team all-conference, 1st team all-region pick for four straight years, she was this year's SSC Offensive and overall Player of the Year. She led the Bucs and SSC this year with 19 goals and 47 points.

Thomas Hipp was named Barry Male Athlete of the Year for 2005-06. The Bucs’ top player the last two years, he has a career 67-13 singles record and 78-19 mark in doubles. He won an NCAA Division II national doubles title this fall with partner Martin Jensen and has been ranked number one in doubles with both Jensen and Patrick Rittenauer since last year. He was a singles and doubles All-American the last two years. Last year, he was selected as the Sunshine State Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year and an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American as well. He has been on the SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll and an ITA Scholar All-American all three years as well as six times on the President’s list.
