Yan Gomes was named the 2009 Male Athlete of the Year. A junior, Gomes broke the school record for RBI, finishing with 92. He hit .405 with 21 home runs and 92 RBI and leading the team to a #1 national ranking and its first-ever Sunshine State Conference title. He finished the season with a 30-game hitting streak, second longest in school history. Gomes also won the Impact Player of the Year for the baseball team.
Camilla Pagnan, a two-time AVCA honorable mention All-America selection, was named Co-Female Athlete of the Year. She led the nation this season in kills per set and finished her career with 1,098 kills. She is the the first player in school history to amass 1,000+ kills in just two years.
Princess Bailey was named co-Female Athlete of the year. She led the women's basketball team in scoring and was second in rebouding, assists, blocked shots and steals. She is the only player in school history to rank in the top 10 in all counting stats.
