Brianna Smith picked up two complete-game wins and a save in three appearances at the Crossover. She shutout #6 Valdosta 1-0 in the opener. She tossed a complete game to beat UWF 5-4, then came back in the nightcap to pick up a save. After a single that capped a four-run rally in the top of the seventh, she entered the game in relief of Alexis Yohe with the tying runs aboard and set down the Argonaut shortstop who had two hits earlier in the game.
Marco Mokrzycki won four matches to open the men's tennis season over the weekend. Mokrzycki, the eighth-ranked NCAA Division II player in the country, beat Embry-Riddle's Chris Freeman, the No. 1-ranked NAIA player in the country, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles in Barry's 6-3 win Sunday. He also beat Florida Southern's Benoit Paradis, 6-3, 6-2, at the top flight in the No. 2 Buccaneers' 9-0 win over No. 23 Florida Southern. Mokrzycki paired with two different doubles partners over the weekend to pick up his other two victories.
