Mark Anderson, playing primarily attacking mid-field, helped Barry maintain possession in both games which resulted in the Buccaneer’s out-shooting both West Florida (19-11) as well as North Georgia (20-5) in a pair of South Region wins. He knotted the game against UWF in the 77th minute to send the game to overtime. Against North Georgia, he ripped the Saints for four goals, tying a career-high.
Tania Torres led the Bucs to a perfect 4-0 start at the Farifield Inn Azalea Classic. She started the weekend with 13 kills and seven digs against Adelphi in a three-set win. Later that day against Valdosta State, she blasted 14 kills while hitting an impressive .542 and adding five total blocks. On Saturday, she continued her hot hitting streak with 14 kills and a .400 attack percentage while chipping in with six total blocks against Augusta State, then ended the week with another 13 kills and three blocks against Albany State. For the week, she tallied 54 kills while hitting .351 and boasted 13 digs and 16 total blocks on defense.
