Dr. Eileen McDonough
Faculty Athletics Representative
Dr. Eileen McDonough is Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Professor of Education, and has served as the Barry University Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) since 1983. She is responsible for initial eligibility for all new freshmen and transfer student athletes. Dr. McDonough is the University contact person for the Initial Eligibility Center and works with prospective student athletes on their eligibility process.
Dr. McDonough is also responsible for continuing eligibility for all student athletes and maintains their progress toward degrees. It is the goal of the athletics department that every student athlete graduate and receive their degree in the year that their last season of eligibility occurs. She works closely with Assistant Dean of HPLS Maritza Ryder and the coaches to assist the student athletes to graduate on time.
Dr. McDonough supervises five departments in Student Affairs, Career Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, Disability Services ,Health Services and International and Multicultural Programs. In addition to her teaching in the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Higher Education Administration, Dr. McDonough also serves as Chair of University Commencement and is the university ADA Coordinator.
Dr. McDonough is a great fan of Barry Athletics and can be found on the sidelines or in the stands for many athletic competitions every year.
