Curtis Tonge has worked with the men’s basketball team as an assistant coach since closing out an exceptional career in 2002. He is responsible for the Bucs’ offensive game-plan and works with the shooters.
He was the fourth-leading scorer in the SSC with 14.9 points per game as a junior in 2000-01 as the Buccaneers reached the SSC Tournament final. As a senior, he led the league with 18.5 points per game, earning First-Team All-SSC.
A tremendous shooter, Tonge connected at a 33.3 percent clip from three-point range and 74.5 percent from the free throw line.
His is the son of Selvin and Christine Tonge. He earned his B.S. in physical education from Barry in 2004.
