Baseball Drops A Pair Of Games In Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Barry University’s baseball team dropped the final two games of the series against Alabama-Huntsville, 12-2 and 13-3.

Barry (9-6, 1-2 SSC) struggled to score runs on offense and the No. 19 Chargers continued their aggressive hitting in the final two games of the series as the Bucs dropped three out of four on the weekend road trip.

Barry managed just three hits in the early game and was held to four in the game two on Sunday.

Adrian English extended his hitting streak to 15 games with an RBI double. Sheehan Planas-Arteaga hit 1-for-3 with 2 RBI in game one and Tim Blackmon belted his first home run of the season in game two to lead the Buccaneer offense.

Kevin Youst tossed six innings and allowed just four earned runs in game one.

Joeanthony Rivera suffered his second loss of the season in 1.1 innings of work.

The Buccaneers just couldn’t get any momentum going on Sunday and the ball didn’t roll their way as they stumbled with a pair of losses .

Barry returns to action on Wednesday as they battle Division I Miami Hurricanes in Coral Gables before hosting Saint Leo over the weekend in Sunshine State Conference action.
