Women's Tennis Runs Over Rollins in SSC Semis

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Barry University women's tennis team beat Rollins, 5-0, in the Sunshine State Conference Championships semifinals match Friday morning at South County Regional Park.

The No. 2-ranked Bucs (23-0) advance to Saturday's 9 a.m. championship match against No. 7 Saint Leo.

After the Buccaneers swept the doubles, Isabela Miro delivered the first singles point when she defeated Ashley Loft, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 6 singles. Thirty-third ranked Linda Fritschken sealed the deal for a second straight day when she beat Carli Davis, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3 singles.

Barrry's No. 3 doubles team of Karina Goia and Miro blanked Mariana Salvador and Davis, 8-0, for the Bucs' first point. Fritschken and Kimmy Twelker were 8-1 winners over Lisa Loft and Ashley Loft at No. 2. Eleventh-ranked Elisabeth Abanda and Emma Onila completed the sweep with an 8-3 victory over Elisa DeCampli at the top flight.
