Barry Rowers Named Scholar All-Americans

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Barry University rowers Kristina Boncheva and Anna Boada received Pocock Scholar All-American honors by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.

To be eligible for the award:

1) Student-athlete has met all eligibility rules as defined by her institution.

2) The student-athlete was in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility.

3) The student-athlete rowed in her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference event

4) The head coach of the student-athlete's institution is a member of the CRCA and in good standing.

Boncheva, a management major from Sofia, Bulgaria, completed her junior year in her second year at Barry in the spring. An athletic training major from Barcelona, Spain, Boada completed her junior year in her first season with the Buccaneers. Both were members of the Bucs Varsity 8, which helped Barry finish second at the NCAA Division II Championships in June.
