MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers kick off the 2013 soccer season, the 30th in school history, this weekend as both the men and women host a pair of regional matchups at Buccaneer Field this weekend.

Kick-off Weekend starts on Thursday, Sept. 5, as the women get things started against Georgia College at 7:00 pm. Wear your 30th anniversary wristband (you can still get one at the gate) for a chance to win multiple gift cards to Best Buy, Sports Authority, Apple, and the Barry University Bookstore! Attendees will be greeted with an ice cream treat at the concession stand. The game will also feature the RA Challenge, with the RA’s competing to win a pizza party for their entire floor.

Kick-off weekend will continue on Friday, Sept. 6, when the men kick off against North Georgia at 7:00 pm. Again, students wearing their 30th anniversary wristbands are eligible for prizes. The Student Alumni Association will be hosting a BBQ starting at 6:00 pm for the first 200 students. The Bucs will also be recognizing the spring sports teams, which posted the University’s best ever finish in the Learfield Sports Director’s Cup competition. Men’s tennis and men’s golf won national championships, while rowing finished second in the nation. Women’s golf came in third at the national championship, while women’s tennis and softball also advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

On Saturday, Sept. 7, the women will host West Georgia at 1:00 pm. Get to the game early as the first 30 students wearing their wristband will receive a free drink from the concession stand.

The weekend concludes on Sunday, Sept. 8 with the men facing off against Young Harris at 1:00 pm. Again, the first 30 students wearing their wristband will receive a free drink from the concession stand.
