Winner Take-All, Red Black Series Goes To Five

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – After four games, the baseball Red-Black series is tied 2-2 and the two squads will face off in a rubber-match to crown a series winner.

After a controversial game three in which Team Red erupted for 18 runs, and fended off a protest by Team Black of an illegal use of the designated hitter position, the series shifted in Team Red’s favor 2-1.

With their backs against the wall, Team Black fell behind 5-1 in game four, but they fought all the way back to tie the game and eventually eked out an extra inning win, 6-5, to force a fifth and decisive game.

Team Red has been led by the stellar play of Khalil Denson while Carlos Matamoros has starred for Team Black thus far.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm on Wednesday and each squad will look to their ace to bring home the series victory. Sophomore Billy Atkins will take the hill for Team Black and Team Red will counter with hard-throwing Calvin Rayburn.
