Women's Tennis Inflict Some 'Pain' at ITA Regional

LAKELAND, Fla. – Barry women's tennis player Ana Pain had a great start to the USTA/ITA South Region Championships Friday at Florida Southern.

Pain defeated Kayla Hergott of Florida Tech, 6-0, 6-2, in the first round of singles play. She also beat Saint Leo's Coralie Pesenti, 6-0, 6-4, in the second round.

Pain and newcomer Sonja Larsen were 8-1 doubles winners over Florida Tech's Natasha Vucevic and Chloe Chanley, 8-1.

Larsen defeated West Florida's Nina Bubelova, 6-3, 6-1, after receiving a first round bye.

Rain wiped out the rest of Friday's play, but will resume Saturday morning.
