Svensson is the NCAA Division II's lone representative competing in the 21-player invitation-only elite field at the par-71, 6,781-yard El Paso Country Club course. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the event which has drawn the likes of golf luminaries.

Past champions include Tiger Woods, Davis Love III, Matt Kuchar, David Duval, Jerry Pate and Webb Simpson.
