SKILLMAN, N.J. -- Barry University men's tennis team is ranked third in the NCAA Division II preseason poll released Monday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Buccaneers went 25-3 last season, advancing to the NCAA semifinals, where they fell to national runner-up Hawai'i Pacific. It was the sixth time in the past seven years the Bucs advanced to the Final Four, having won two national championships during that span.

Last year's champion, West Florida is ranked No. 1. Runner-up Hawai'i Pacific is second. Concordia (N.Y.) is fourth, and Armstrong Atlantic State fifth.

Barry senior Fabian Groetsch is ranked No. 3 in singles. Sophomore Ahmed Triki is fourth. Sophomore Nico Dreer is 26th, and Kevin Sielmann opens the year ranked 48th.

Groetsch and Triki are ranked No. 14 in doubles.

The Bucs will open the spring dual match season in February.
