LAKELAND, Fla. -- Barry University men's basketball team returns to Sunshine State Conference play for Saturday's 7:30 p.m. tip-off at No. 1 Florida Southern.

The game will air on the Buccaneers Radio Broadcast Network. Danny Rabinowitz will handle the call. The game will also be carried on Florida Southern's live streaming network.

The No. 10-ranked Buccaneers (8-1, 1-0 SSC) are seeking their first win over the Moccasins (11-0, 0-0) at Jenkins Field House since Feb. 10, 2007. Barry has won three times in Lakeland in a series that dates back to Nov. 17, 1984.

This marks the second ranked opponent of the season on the Bucs' schedule. Winston-Salem State, whom Barry beat to win Lynn's Boca Raton Classic before the Christmas break, was receiving votes in the national polls. Barry also had exhibition games at Division I Top 10 Louisville and Florida.

The Bucs and Mocs split the season series last year, each winning at home. Barry beat Florida Southern, 94-76, and fell in Lakeland, 95-79. Florida Southern's Kevin Capers, who leads the SSC in scoring, had 24 points in the Mocs' home win. He had 29 in defeat in Miami Shores.

Both teams are shooting nearly identical from 3-point range, with the Bucs connecting on 38.6 percent and the Mocs 38.7 percent. FSC is giving up 76 points per game, while the Bucs are yielding 68.1.

Saturday's game marks the first of two straight on the road. The Bucs will play at Rollins on Wednesday. Barry returns home Saturday, Jan. 10 for a 4 p.m. tip against Palm Beach Atlantic.
