Women's Soccer Ties Panthers
Becca Rogers (00) leads the SSC in goals against average and shutouts.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers and the Florida Tech Panthers played to a scoreless draw in Sunshine State women’s soccer action at Buccaneer Field on Saturday night.

Both teams had opportunities, but the defenses held firm, holding the ball out of the nets. Barry (9-3-1, 4-0-1 SSC) had a number of one-on-one chances, but Panther keeper, freshman Karlyn Prisco, making her first career start, had four saves. The Panthers (7-4-1, 1-3-1 SSC) took most of their shots from long range and Barry’s Becca Rogers successfully defended all eight that came in on frame.

For Prisco, it was her first career shutout. For Rogers, it lowered her goals against average to a league-best 0.68 and gave her the lead in shutouts with six.

The tie keeps the Buccaneers in the driver’s seat for the SSC Tournament, coming up in November. Barry is the only team in the league without a loss.

The Bucs travel to arch-rival Lynn on Tuesday to face the Knights at 1:00 pm at the McCusker Sports Complex.
