WINTER PARK, Fla.—Fourteen student-athletes were named to the 2012 All-Sunshine State Conference Rowing Team, with the Barry Buccaneers placing three members of their crew on the team: Kristina Boncheva, Renee Forcier and Helene Pierre all earned First-Team varsity awards.

It was the first all-conference awards for the trio. She helped the Bucs to wins in dual races with Emory, Central Oklahoma and Florida Tech and a second-place finish at the SSC Regatta.

Forcier, a senior, posted a 7:34 personal-best erg time, while junior Pierre’s was 7:36.

Forcier was also named to the Pocock Scholar All-America Team by the College Rowing Coaches Association for the second straight year. She was joined by sophomore Jennifer Feriozzi and senior Courtney Greene.

The Bucs begin competition at the NCAA National Regatta on Friday at noon with a first heat match against Mercyhurst and Humboldt State.
