MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University men's golf coach Jimmy Stobs announced the signing of three new players for the spring season.
The No. 2-ranked Buccaneers added Adam Svensson, Alvaro Beltran and Gianmaria Mazzetto. All are enrolled in classes this semester.
Svensson won the 2012 Canadian Junior Boys Championship, shooting 75-69-75-64 -- 283. He also won the British Columbia Amateur Championship, British Columbia Junior Boys title, the CN Future Links Championship and the Callaway Junior World Golf Championship, all in 2010.
Beltran is a transfer from Ole Miss, where he redshirted last year. He is an SEC Dean's List academic honor roll student. Beltran was a top five player in Valencia, Spain in 2010. He shot a 6-under 66 in a tournament in Spain in 2010.
Mazzetto won the Lancello D'oro event, shooting 71-79-69. He also finished sixth in a couple other Italian tournaments.
Barry will open the season Feb. 11-12 at the Matlock Invitational in Lakeland, Fla.
