Mokrzycki Earns SSC Men's Tennis Player of Week Honor

WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry University senior Marco Mokrzycki (Hannover, Germany) was named the Sunshine State Conference men's tennis Player of the Week presented by VALIC.

Mokrzycki collected two points in the No. 4 Buccaneers' road victory over NAIA No. 1 Embry-Riddle. Playing in the top flight in both singles and doubles, Mokrzycki, who is ranked No. 7 in Division II singles, defeated NAIA No. 1 Patrick Besch, 6-3, 6-4. He also combined with Fabian Groetsch, with whom he forms the No. 2 doubles tandem in Division II, for a 9-8 (7-4) win over Besch and Deni Zmak.

Mokrzycki, an All-American in singles and doubles, is 2-0 at the No. 1 singles spot this year. He is 3-0 in doubles.
