MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's men's golf team will host the Buccaneer Invitational, presented by Carrabba's Italian Grill Monday and Tuesday at Normandy Shores Golf Club in Miami Beach.

Play begins 8:30 a.m. Monday with a shotgun start to the opening two rounds. Tee times for Tuesday's final round are staggered from 7:25 a.m. to 11:55 a.m., with completion of the leaders anticipated around 5 p.m.

Fourteen teams, including four in the Golf World/Nike Golf Top 25 NCAA Division II poll released Wednesday, make up this year's tournament field. Three other teams are also receiving votes in the national coaches poll. Along with No. 2 Barry, which has won the last five Buccaneer Invitational events, No. 1 Nova Southeastern, No. 5 Lynn and No. 22 Georgia Southwestern will compete for the tournament title. Florida Tech, Central Missouri and Saint Leo, all of which are receiving votes in the national poll, are also in the field.

The Bucs, which have won three tournaments this season, including two in the spring, have flip-flopped back and forth with the Sharks for the top spot in the national poll a couple times in the spring. Barry received eight first-place votes and 407 points in the recent poll, while Nova received seven first-place votes and 410 points.

Barry's five-player lineup includes Adam Svensson, Marcus Segerstrom, Scott Smyers, Jared Dalga and Jaime Rodriguez. Six other Bucs will also compete as individuals, including Marcelo Huarte, Simon Forsslund, Berry Jole, John Yu, Nico Cavero and Alvaro Beltran.

Svensson was named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week on Monday, following his second straight runner-up finish in a pair of Georgia tournaments. He leads the Bucs with a 71.0 scoring average, and has a low round of 66 in four events since signing with the Buccaneers in January.

Segerstrom, an honorable mention Ping All-American, won the Flagler College Jennison Memorial in September. He tied for second at Nova's Guy Harvey Inviational two weeks later. Segerstrom's 72.83 scoring average is second on the team. He shot 67 earlier this season. Segerstrom has five top-10 finishes, and leads the Bucs with 85 birdies in 2012-13.

Smyers also shot 67 this year when he tied for fourth at the Matlock Collegiate Classic the Buccaneers won to open the spring season. He has three top-10 finishes this season. Smyers owns a 73.17 scoring average.

Dalga tied for second, along with Svensson, at the Southeastern Collegiate two weeks ago. Dalga has a 73.67 scoring average. He leads the Buccaneers with three eagles, and has three top-10 finishes.

Rodriguez shot 71-72 in back-to-back rounds in the first of the two events he's competed in this season. He has a 78.17 scoring average.
