SEASIDE, Calif. -- Barry University freshman Mario Beltran won his second straight tournament, marking three straight events a Buccaneer player has won the medalist honor this season.

Beltran beat Cal State Monterey Bay's Anton Rosen in a playoff to win the Otter Invitational at the 15-team, 80-player tournament on the par-72, 6,810-yard Blackhorse Golf Course. Beltran shot 68-70-73 -- 211 to finish at 5-under. Rosen, who was competing on his home course, shot back-to-back 70s after an opening-round 71.

The No. 1-ranked Buccaneers finished second to the host Otters after shooting 881. CSUMB won with a 10-under 854. Wilmington was third, seven strokes behind the Buccaneers.

Beltran, who had an eagle in the event, finished at even par in par-4 scoring holes. He was 2-under in par-5 scoring.

Monterey Bay's Dylan Jackson finished third at 3-under 213.

Barry's Jared Dalga and Adam Svensson tied for eighth at 2-over 218. Dalga shot 77 in the final round, while Svensson capped his 54-hole tournament at even par in Tuesday's round. Svensson led the field with 16 pars. Dalga was tied for second with four birdies.

Beltran and Svensson shared the tournament title honors at the Guy Harvey Invitational two weeks ago.

Bucs teammates Marcelo Huarte and Eirik Groenhaug tied for 63rd at 238. Both shot 78 Tuesday.

Barry will finish the fall season next Monday and Tuesday at the McDonough Cup, which will be played at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando.
