WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry University sophomore Adam Svensson has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Golfer of the Week presented by VALIC.

It is the second time Svensson won the award in his career, having done so last year as a freshman.

Svensson shot a school-record 64 (8-under par) in the second round of the Matlock Collegiate Classic. He went on to win the Matlock Collegiate Classic by four strokes with a total score of 205 (71-64-70), shooting under par in all three rounds. It is Svensson's first individual title of the spring, and third of the 2013-14 season.

Svensson's three tournament titles this year is the most ever in any one season at Barry. He also won the Brickyard Crossing in Indianapolis and shared the Guy Harvey Invitational in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., during the fall season.
