Triki Earns Second SSC Men's Tennis Player of Week Award

WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry University freshman Ahmed Triki has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week presented by VALIC.

It is the second time this year Triki, a Tunis, Tunisia, native, has won the league award.

Triki led the No. 1 Buccaneers to three wins, including an 8-1 win over No. 8 Saint Leo and a 6-3 win over No. 2 Armstrong Atlantic. The freshman went 2-0 at No. 1 singles with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Saint Leo's Bruno Sisti. He then defeated No. 10 Pablo Gor of Armstrong Atlantic, 6-1, 6-2. Triki won three doubles matches with three different partners during the week. He remains undefeated at 4-0 in singles and 7-0 in doubles.

Triki has two singles victories over ranked opponents. He and Fabian Groetsch have one over a ranked doubles tandem.
