Rowing's Boncheva Competing at World Championships

AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands -- Barry University rowing alum Kristina Boncheva is competing for her native country in the World Rowing Championships this week.

Boncheva, who completed her final season of collegiate rowing in the spring, is representing Bulgaria in the women's double sculls event along with partner Desislava Todorova. The Championships began last Sunday and run through this Sunday.

A Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-American as a junior, Boncheva is expected to return to campus on Sunday. She will then attend classes to complete her undergraduate studies in management, and compete for the volleyball team this semester.
