MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University women's basketball team beat Florida Memorial, 84-64, Tuesday night.

Jackie Perez scored 19 points, and had five assists in a game four Buccaneers reached double figures.

"I think this was a good win for multiple players to reach double figures," said Perez, who canned five triples for the second time this season. "I think this is how we're going to be successful this year, to collectively come together."

Nyjah Porcher had 16 points and seven rebounds on a night she shot 6 of 13 from the field, and dished out six assists while coming up with three steals in 29 minutes. Lynae Richardson had 13 points and four rebounds, while shooting 5 of 8 from the floor. She buried both of her three-point attempts. Amra Elezovic had 10 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals. She was five of 11 from the floor.

The Buccaneers, who led 70-45 on a basket by Richardson with 6:23 to go, let the Lions (0-4) creep back in it. Florida Memorial cut it to 12 on Nicole Collins transition basket with 3:49 remaining. But the Bucs (2-1) closed the game with an 11-3 run.

"Although we won, this game helped us see some areas we need to perfect," said Perez, who was one of three Barry players with three steals.

The Bucs shot 50 percent from 3-point range, going 10 of 20 from beyond the arc.

Collins had 17 points and seven rebounds, and Abreona Cabell and Diamond Colebrooke each scored 15 for the Lions.

Barry will host Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras 2 p.m. Saturday.
