Gizella Turbok enters her third season as the assistant coach for the Buccaneer women.
Turbok brings a wealth of tennis knowledge to the women’s program. In addition to serving as the women’s assistant coach, she currently works as a tennis professional at Pembroke Pines Rose Prize Park, teaching all age groups. She also served as the assistant pro for one year prior.
Before Rose Prize Park, Turbok worked under Pierre Arnold at Pembroke Lakes Tennis Club and assisted teaching top juniors players from around the local community.
During her collegiate career, Turbok played two sesaons with the Buccaneers earning two All-American awards, two First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference honors in singles and doubles, and was the SSC Women’s Player of the Year in 2002. She also earned the Bucs’ Most Outstanding Player award as a junior.
Prior to Barry, she played two seasons at Charleston Southern where she was a two-time All-Big South selection and team MVP.
She is currently working toward a master’s degree in sport psychology at Barry.
