Thomas Hipp enters his first year at Barry as an assistant coach. He brings numerous years of playing experience to the Buccaneer staff.
Born in Germany, Hipp played at Barry for four years and was one of the team’s most decorated players. Hipp compiled a 67-13 overall record at Barry, first on the all-time wins list, while his winning percentage (.837) ranks fourth in school history. He was a three-time ITA Singles All-American, four-time ITA Scholar All-American and a three-time ITA doubles All-American.
Hipp earned SSC Athlete of the Year and Player of the Year in 2006. He made First-Team All-SSC in singles every year he played while also earning First-Team All-SSC in doubles in 2004, 2005, and 2006. As a freshman at Barry, Hipp received the conference Freshman-of-the-Year award.
Hipp received his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Barry University in 2006. He is currently working towards his master’s degree in sport management.
