Barry University's No. 1-ranked men's golf team is competing in its second event in consecutive weeks. Last week, the Buccaneers were the runner-up at the St. Edward's Invitational in Austin, Texas. This week's tournament is being hosted by Valdosta State at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
The Buccaneers competing field consists of senior Marcus Segerstrom, juniors Jared Dalga, Marcelo Huarte and Scott Smyers and freshman Adam Svensson. Fifteen schools and 75 players make up the field. Barry is one of six Sunshine State Conference schools in the tournament.
Last year, the Buccaneers were second out of 14 teams, shooting 9-under 855. North Alabama, also back in this year's field, won the 2012 tournament at 23-under 841.
