WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry's Varsity 8 has yet again been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Boat of the Week presented by VALIC. This marks the fourth straight week the Bucs have claimed the weekly honor.

The Buccaneer 8 continued its impressive spring with a victory in the Varsity 8 final at the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships in Sarasota. In that race, the Bucs posted a time of 7:29.5 to defeat second-place Nova Southeastern by 8.1 seconds. In Friday's heats, the crew had tallied a commanding 24-second win over Division I Jacksonville.

Earning the victories for the Buccaneers were coxswain Gracie Horwitz (Chicago, Ill.), Kristina Boncheva (Sofia, Bulgaria), Anna Boada (Barcelona, Spain), Rosie Boncheva (Sofia, Bulgaria), Monika Kaminska (Walcz, Poland), Beth Desmond (Cape May, N.J.), Anais Foppoli (Thonon, France), Emma Howard (Newton Square, Pa.), and Kelly Harrison (Fairfax, Va.).

Barry will row in the prestigious Knecht Cup in Camden, N.J. Saturday and Sunday.
