MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University senior men's basketball player Magne Fivelstad was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America/Capital One Academic All-District Team released Thursday.

Fivelstad, a 6-foot-6, 200-pound forward from Bergen, Norway, has a 3.78 grade point average in finance. He was chosen as the university's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2012-13. He earned Sunshine State Conference Commissioner Honor Roll recognition last spring. He was named to the Dean's List in the fall and spring last year.

On the court, he is averaging 11 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 53.7 percent from the floor and 82.4 percent from the free throw line. He ranks fifth in Barry career history in free throw shooting at 79.6 percent. This year, he is on pace to finish third in school single-season history.

Fivelstad ranks fifth all-time in defensive rebounding average (4.6) and eighth in total rebounding average in school history. He is three points shy of 400 and two rebounds away from 250 in his less than two-year Bucs career. He is averaging just under 11 points and seven rebounds in his career.
