St. Leo, Fla.—Rayah Seckler got loose in the Back of the Saint Leo Lions defense and scored the game-winner in overtime as the Barry Buccaneers ran their record to 9-1-1, 5-0-0 in the Sunshine State Conference on Saturday at Saint Leo’s University Field.

The Bucs got on board in the first half after dominating play. Lavinia Nkomo played a ball through the Lion defense to Christy Grimshaw. The Lions (9-4-0, 4-2-0 SSC) stopped, assuming the offside, and paid the price when she was ruled on and slotted the shot past Lions keeper Laura Carstens in the 38th minute.

Becca Rogers made the goal stand up until the 88th minute. Arielle Kabangu got the ball in behind the Buccaneer defense and converted the one-on-one chance against the Buccaneer keeper.

Tamara Vuckovich, who played the through ball to Grimshaw, had the assist on the game-winner.

Rogers had four saves to earn the win for the Bucs. Carstens had two saves and allowed two goals for the Lions.

The Bucs travel to Melbourne, Fla., on Wednesday, Oct. 22 to face the Florida Tech Panthers.
