Women's Tennis Pair Knocks off Notre Dame Duo

FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – Barry University doubles team of Emma Onila and Linda Fritschken won their opening round match at the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Indoor Championships Thursday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Onila and Fritschken beat Notre Dame’s Quinn Gleason and Monica Robinson, 6-4, 7-5, in their first match. 

In their second match against third-seeded Klara Fabikova and Zsofi Susanyi of California, Onila and Fritschken lost, 6-2, 6-1.

It is the second straight year the Buccaneers duo earned the right to compete in the Indoor Championships after repeating as ITA Small College and Super Bowl champions. Onila and Fritschken are the only NCAA Division II team at the indoor championships.
