FLORENCE, Ala.— The Barry Buccaneers won both matches on the final day of the UNA Regional Crossover Tournament at Flowers Hall on Saturday. The Bucs defeated Harding 3-1 and Montevallo 3-0.

In the first match, the Bucs (6-7) jumped out to a quick two-game lead against the Bison (10-5) winning 30-27 and 30-28. But after the Bison took game three 30-26, they led in game four 20-14 when Camilla Pagnan took over and served eight straight points to key a 9-0 run that put the Bucs up 22-20. Barry went on to take the game 32-30 and the match 3-1.

Pagnan had 23 kills, while Stefanie Sveiven had 16 kills and five blocks. Lauren Evans led four Bucs in double figures with 23 digs. Manuela Nesheva led the Bison with 14 kills, while Meredith Rosenbaum had 31 digs.

In the second match, the Bucs swept through the Montevallo Falcons (3-14) 30-26, 30-26, 30-23.

The Falcons committed 33 attack errors to hit a measly .016 in the match. Pagnan again led the Bucs with 11 kills, but Sveiven had 10 and Meisje-Sable Burton added eight on the slide set for which the Falcons had no answer.

Pagnan was named the co-Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament along with North Alabama's Danielle Palasak. Edith Musebe (Henderson State), Aley Tallman and Emily Carle (Nova Southeastern) and Jessica Hansen (North Alabama) rounded out the All-Tournament team.

The Bucs open Sunshine State Conference action on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7:00 pm at the de Hoernle Center against the Lynn Knights.
