Christina Thompson's Career Night Propels Women's Basketball

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Junior Christina Thompson erupted for a career high 22 points as the Buccaneers (12-5, 3-3 SSC) snapped a three game losing streak with a 63-49 Sunshine State Conference victory over visiting Rollins. Thompson was on the mark throughout the evening scooping up 15 first half points including five of nine shooting from behind the arc. She finished the night with six three-pointers made.
 
Barry was dominate from the first whistle limiting the Tars to a 24 percent shooting percentage from the field in the first half and also causing 21 turnovers. The Buccaneers also led by as many as 21 points in the second half.
 
Junior Princess Bailey wreaked havoc on the court cause four turnovers as well as blocking a shot. Offensively she registered 14 points. Junior Kristy Singletary proved to be an effective shooter scoring eight points and four assists in limited play.
 
Thompson’s previous career high was 16 points against Bryant on Dec. 12, 2006.

Rollins was led by senior Jennifer Musgrove, who led her squad with 13 points.
 
The Buccaneers seek to continue their winning ways this Saturday when they play host to Saint Leo in SSC action. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
