DAVIE, Fla.— The Barry men’s basketball team dropped a Sunshine State Conference men’s basketball game to the Nova Southeastern Sharks 69-42 at the University Center Wednesday night.
Barry (6-14, 0-8 SSC) stayed close for the first nine minutes, trailing just 17-15 at the 11:07 mark after a offensive rebound dunk from Jeff Willis. But the Bucs cooled off from the field and Tim Coenraad scored nine points, including a four-point play, to key a 15-4 run over the next five minutes to put the Sharks up 32-19. NSU (9-9, 4-4 SSC) stretched the lead to 22 points, 47-23, at the half.
Karega Tucker led the Bucs with 13 points. Coenraad led the Sharks with a game-high 27 points, hitting 11-of-18 from the field. Matt Massey was the only other player in double figures with 13 points.
Barry travels to Melbourne, Fla., on Saturday, Feb. 2 to face the Panthers of Florida Tech.
