Baseball Drops Non-Conference Game To Panthers

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers dropped a 7-3 non-conference decision to the Florida Tech Panthers at Feinbloom Field on Tuesday.
 
The Panthers (3-1) chased Barry starter Mike Tomoleoni (0-1) in the fifth inning rapping out five straight hits with two outs and scoring four runs.
 
Joel Keefe and Chris Leon led the Bucs (2-2) at the plate with two hits each, including a double each. Keefe drove in two of the Bucs’ three runs. JD Davidson had three hits for Tech, with two doubles, while Kevin Villa had two hits and two RBI.
 
Matt Schurig (1-0) earned the win for the Panthers with six strong innings. He allowed two runs on four hits and four walks and struck out three. Tomoleoni took the loss for the Bucs, giving up six runs on six hits and five walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out six.
 
The Bucs host the Saint Leo Lions on Friday, Feb. 8 at 6:00 pm in their next outing.
