Women's Tennis Blanks Sailfish

WEST PALM BEACH Fla.—The Barry University women’s tennis team got back on the winning track with a 6-0 win over the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish on Wednesday at the PBA Courts.
The Bucs (3-1) took all three doubles in short order. Ildoko Csordas and Angie Werschel defeated Lina Rubiano and Natalie Aleman 8-2 at number one. At number two, Olivia Lilien and Caroline Stevens, who have played together since their juniors days in Belgium, knocked off Montserrat Ripoll and Krishna Domenech 8-1. Saskia Kruse and Berit Peterson made it 3-0 with an 8-2 win over Kelly Schwartz and Katie Livesay at number three.
In singles, Csordas handled Rubiano 6-0, 6- at number one and Werschel made it official with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Aleman at number three. Stevens was pushed to a third set by Ripoll, but came away with a 6-2, 6-7 (5), 10-5 win.
The Bucs will be back at home on Friday, Feb. 22 against the Seahawks of Northwood University.
