SAN ANTONIO, Fla. – Barry University Men’s Basketball fell 54-40 (9-18, 1-12 SSC) against Saint Leo University (12-12, 5-8 SSC) on Saturday evening. The loss marked the end of the Buccaneers’ three-game win streak.
The Buccaneers and Lions played a sluggish first half with Saint Leo barely escaping the half with an 18-15 lead. Karega Tucker tallied eight points to lead the Bucs including going 3-of-4 from the free throw line. Defensively, Bryan Chiverton grabbed six boards and a steal.
Saint Leo jumped out to a ten point 25-15 lead to open the second half as the Buccaneers struggled to get their offense going. Tucker proved to be the only bright spot netting 14 points in the half. Collectively, the Bucs shot 32.1% from the field (9-of-28).
Tucker led the Buccaneers with a game-high 22 point performance. The Lions were paced by Jordan Prais with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
The Buccaneers will hit the road to take on the Rollins College Tars in Winter Park on Wednesday February 27th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
