Baseball Sweeps Pair From Golden Knights

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers swept the Golden Knights of the College of St. Rose in a baseball doubleheader at Feinbloom Field on Friday, winning game one 6-0 and taking the nightcap 10-1.
 
In the opener, Brian Milanes (2-2) twirled a complete-game shutout, holding the Knights (1-11) to eight hits and two walks while striking out seven.
 
Andrew Frezza paced the Bucs (14-7) going four-for-four with two singles, a double and a triple and driving in four runs. Nick Shaw added a pair of singles and a walk and scored three runs.
 
Jake Kozar (1-1) took the loss for the Knights, allowing all six runs on eight hits and four walks and struck out four in six innings.
 
In the nightcap, John Servidio blasted a two-run homer in the first inning, giving Bobby Riley (1-0) all the support he needed in his first start of the season.
 
Riley tossed a complete game, allowing just one run on four hits and five walks while striking out three. Emilio LaPietra (0-2) took the loss. He went 4.2 innings allowing six runs on nine hits and two walks and two strike outs.
 
In the sixth inning, Servidio capped the scoring with a second two-run homer, giving him seven for the season. Shaw, Frezza and Joel Keefe all had two hits and scored two runs, while Mitch Rodriguez had two hits and drove in two.
 
The Bucs will continue their home stand with a single game on Saturday, Mar. 8 at 6:00 pm against the Embry-Riddle Eagles.
