Men's Tennis Plucks Monmouth Hawks 9-0

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University Men’s Tennis (8-2, 4-0 SSC) blanked Monmouth University (3-3) 9-0 Tuesday afternoon at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
 
The Bucs put on a dominant performance in doubles action, setting the tone for the rest of the match. At #1 doubles, Ales Svigelj paired with #12 Patrick Rittenauer in an 8-6 victory over Ben Evenden and Tom Corrie. At #2, Jakub Fejfar and Emmaunel Fraitzl served Pedro Bruno and Tim McLane an 8-3 defeat. #43 Andrew Sharnov and Cristoph Gayer completed the sweep in doubles with an 8-3 shelling against Corey Forrest and Vik Gupta.
 
Svigelj picked up his second team point of the afternoon in a 6-2, 3-6 (10-6) win over Evenden at #1 singles. Rittenauer put on a strong performance in the second flight with a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Corrie. The Hawks' Bruno fell 6-2, 6-2 against Fraitzl in the third slot, while Sharnov picked up a 6-2, 6-0 decision at the fourth flight against Forrest. Fejfar and Lauter closed out the afternoon with 6-1, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-1 victories at the bottom flights.
 
The Buccaneers return to action on Thursday, March 13th, as they play host to Auburn-Montgomery. The match is scheduled for a 3:00 pm start.
