The Buccaneers remain undefeated.

DAVIE, Fla—The 20th-ranked Barry men’s soccer team remains undefeated after manhandling Warner Southern 8-1 on Sunday at Nova Southeastern.

The Buccaneers (4-0) scored four times in the first half. Their first goal came in the 22nd minute when Sascha Koettig delivered the ball to Mark Kilpatrick, who blasted it into the net.

Pedro Petris scored the game-winning goal when Ricardo Ramirez crossed the ball into the middle. Petris dribbled the ball and lofted it over the Royal’s goalkeeper.

From that point on, it was a free-for-all for the Buccaneers as they rattled off six more goals. Mark Kilpatrick earned one more and Vuk Kojic and Mark Anderson each scored once.

Ricardo Ramirez earned his first hat-trick with three goals for the day. His first goal came in the 41st minute when Petris headed the ball into the crossbar. Ramirez, who was waiting, easily slipped the ball into the net. In the second half, Ramirez scored twice in three minutes, first when he slid the ball past the Royal’s goalkeeper who over ran the ball trying to save it; then off a Buccaneer corner kick.

The Royal’s (3-3) only goal came as the result of a penalty kick in the 83rd minute.

The Buccaneers return to action on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7 pm against Christian Brothers in Decatur, Ala.
