MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers nipped the St. Thomas Bobcats 1-0 at Bobcat Field on Wednesday in women’s soccer action.
Haley Struthers chipped in the game-winning goal in the 74th minute off a rebound at the far post from a shot by Ashley Brower. Brower jinked a ball around a defender inside the 18-yard box and zipped a shot past Bobcat keeper Denisse Montero. The ball glanced off the far post and Struthers was there to knock it home.
Danielle Rezendes, making her first start of the season, stopped three shots to record her first shutout. Montero had five saves for STU.
The Bucs travel on Saturday, Oct. 11 to St. Leo, Fla., to face the Lions in Sunshine State Conference action.
