Svigelj Takes Fourth Place at ITA Nationals
MOBILE, Ala--Barry's Ales Svigelj lost in the third place game at the Division II ITA National Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
 
Svigelj lost to Rong Ma of BYU-Hawaii 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 to finish in fourth place.
 
The ITA National Tournament concludes Barry's fall tennis schedule. They return to play in February.
 
Svigelj to Play in Consolation Final at ITA Nationals
 
MOBILE, Ala.—Barry’s Ales Svigelj fell in the semifinals of the 2008 ITA National Small College Championships at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala., to second-seeded Eudaldo Bonet of Armstrong Atlantic 4-6, 7-5, 6-1.

Svigelj, the tournament’s third seed, will now face fourth-seeded Rong Ma of BYU-Hawaii in the consolation match on Saturday.
Svigelj Advances To Semifinals At ITA Nationals
 
MOBILE, Ala.—Ales Svigelj took his first step toward an NCAA Division II National Championship on Thursday with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Sasha Ruckelshausen of Metro State at the 2008 ITA National Small College Championships at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala.
 
Svigelj, seeded third at the tournament, made short work of Ruckelshausen, the champion of the North Central Region. He will now face Southeast Region champ and #2 seed Eudaldo Bonet of Armstrong Atlantic who advanced with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Lukas Labitsch of Kutztown.
 
The semifinal match is scheduled for 10:30 am CDT on Friday. The tournament continues with the divisional finals on Saturday and the “Super Bowl” of Small College Tennis on Sunday. The winner of the Super Bowl earns a berth in the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships hosted by the University of Virginia, November 6-9 in Chancellorsville, Va.
