Men's Basketball Drops Exhibition To 'Canes

CORAL GABLES, Fla.—The Miami Hurricanes defeated the Barry Buccaneers 76-43 in a men’s basketball exhibition at the BankUnited Center on Saturday, behind 30 points from Jack McClinton and Brian Asbury.

The early part of the game was close with neither team scoring much, as the Hurricanes led just 7-3 at the 13:56 mark. But the ‘Canes rolled off a 19-5 run over the next 6:35 to take an 18-point lead and never looked back.

After trailing by 11 at the half, 33-22, the Bucs never got closer then that as the Hurricanes hit eight of 12 from three-point range in the period, with Asbury going three-for-three.

McClinton led all scorers with 17 points, while Asbury had 13. Chad Bishop led the Bucs with 11 points and Karega Tucker added 10.

The Bucs host St. Thomas in an exhibition on Wednesday, Nov. 12 before opening the regular season on Nov. 19 at home against Florida Memorial.
