MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barry University men’s basketball team was edged by Lynn, 68-67, Wednesday night in Sunshine State Conference action at the Health and Sports Center.

Barry (6-10, 1-5 SSC) came out ready to play, as the Bucs led the entire first half, building the lead to ten at the 5:07 mark on a layup by Bryan Astigarraga.

Lynn opened the second half with a flurry, as they finally took the lead at the 16:51 mark on a jumper by Michael Baptiste to take a 34-33 lead.

The Knights opened up a seven-point lead just two minutes later, as John Brown converted a three-point play.
The Bucs refused to go away, as a Karega Tucker three-pointer and a Bartas Visinkis free throw helped bring Barry into a tie at 46 all.

The game would go back and forth over the final five minutes, as after Lynn regained the lead at 61-59, Tucker followed with a breakaway layup after Zach Trapp recorded a big steal and an assist on the play.

Lynn countered with a quick layup by Brandon Kennedy to regain the two-point lead with 1:16 left to play.

After the Bucs missed on their next possession, the Knights added a free throw to expand the lead to three.

Lynn would then foul Chris Uz on the next play to force a one-in-one instead of allowing the Bucs to go for a three-pointer and a possible tie.

After Uz hit both, Chris Hall countered for the Knights with a pair to expand the lead back to three with nine seconds to play.

Uz was once again followed and after hitting one of two at the line, Hall stepped back up and calmly hit two more free throws for the Knights to give them a four-point lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Tucker led the way for the Bucs with 15 points. Erick Nsangou also reached double-digits, adding 10 points.

Three Knights reached double-digit scoring, with Chris Hall leading the way with 17, while Michel Vidal added 16 and Randy Jones chipped in 10.

Barry will be back in action this Saturday as they will play at Rollins beginning at 4 p.m.
