ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Barry University baseball team continued to roll up victories, as the Bucs tallied their seventh-straight win after a 5-3 decision over Flagler Friday night.

Junior Yan Gomes got the Bucs started right in the first inning, as the third baseman homered to right-center for a solo homer and a 1-0 advantage.

Senior designated hitter Joel Keefe and sophomore catcher Chris Leon added sacrifice fly RBI in the third and fourth frames to build the lead to 3-0.

With the Bucs (7-1) offense rolling up runs, senior Bobby Hernandez dominated the Saints on the mound.
Hernandez allowed just one earned run in seven innings of work, while recording foru strikeouts for his first victory of the season in three starts.

Junior Brian Milanes came on in a jam in the ninth inning, as Flagler had already plated one run before he entered, then the Saints tallied another run against Milanes to get within two runs.

Flalger would promptly load the bases in the inning, but Milanes ended the threat with a big strikeout to record his second save of the season in as many chances.

Barry will play a doubleheader against Flagler on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
