LAKELAND, Fla.— The #2 ranked Barry University men’s tennis team overpowered Florida Southern, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon.
The Bucs started the day off correctly in doubles competition, taking all three matches. Max Wimmer and Emanuel Fraitzl won in the number one spot, Andrew Sharnov and Sergio Velez took the number two spot, and the #14 team of Ales Svigelj and Roman Werschel took the number three spot.
The Bucs obtained five of the six singles competitions with wins by Svigelj, Fraitzl, Sharnov, Wimmer and Fejfar in one, two, three, five and six respectively.
The Buccaneers improve to 4-0, 2-0 in the Sunshine State Conference, while Florida Southern falls to 3-1, 1-1 in the league. The Bucs return to action against Florida Tech on Sunday.
