SAN DIEGO, Calif.— The Barry University men’s tennis team wrapped up a successful West Coast road trip on Monday, beating Hawai’I Pacific 8-1. With the win, the Bucs (9-0) remain undefeated for the season.
In doubles action, the Bucs won all three matches starting with the number one doubles match where Emanuel Fraitzl and Max Wimmer beat Daniel Luedi and Nikola Petrov 9-8 (7-5). In number two doubles Ales Svigelj and Andrew Sharnov beat Sebastian Bader and Hendrik Bode 8-3. In number three doubles Jakub Fejfar and Sergio Velez beat Aleksander Markov and Anton Samuilau 8-6.
In singles action, the Bucs took all but one match from the Sea Warriors (4-1). Svigelj, Fraitzl, Sharnov, Wimmer, and Fejfar won in spots 1-5 respectively. Hawai’I Pacific’s only point came when Samuilau beat Velez 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 in the number six spot.
The Buccaneers now return home where they will face Division I Georgetown on Monday March 9 at 3:00 pm.
